The Yellow Bellied Slider Turtle (Trachemys scripta scripta) is not the result of a cross between turtles, but a native turtle race. It is also native to the southeastern United States, specifically from Florida to southeastern Virginia. This turtle has an oval upper shell shape, is weakly spiny, and has a yellow stripe behind the eyes and stripes on its neck, arms, and legs.
